Dr. Andrea Ruissen (1981) is psychiater, coach en filosofe. Ze studeerde geneeskunde in Maastricht en wijsbegeerte in Amsterdam en promoveerde aan de VU op een medisch ethisch proefschrift.

Ze werkte in de sociale psychiatrie in Zeeland, als psychiater in de gevangenis en de rechtbank (forensische psychiatrie) in Zuid-Holland,

als ziekenhuispsychiater (o.a. palliatieve zorg en oncologie) in Leidschendam

en als psychiater in een psychotherapeutische setting in Den Haag. Ook was ze lid van de redactieraad van het TGE en van de redactie van het NTvG. 

Onder de vlag van Amedea combineert ze patiëntenzorg en leertherapie met andere activiteiten: ifms, moreel beraad, voordrachten, workshops, supervisie, coaching, visitaties, METc en consultatie.

Andrea Ruissen (1981) M.D., Ph.D., is a psychiatrist, coach and philosopher.

She studied medicine in Maastricht and philosophy at VU University in Amsterdam. She did a PhD in medical humanities on decisional capacity.

After that, she worked in community psychiatry in Zeeland, in a prison and in court (forensic psychiatry) in Zuid-Holland, as a consultation-liaison psychiatrist (including palliative care and oncology) in a hospital in Leidschendam and in a psychotherapeutic setting in The Hague. She was editor for two national journals.

In Amedea she combines patient care and personal therapy with other activities, such as moral case deliberation, education, supervision and coaching.
